2005: A Major New Release Heralds Debian's Maturity

Debian 3.1 (Sarge) was released on June 6th; a distribution derived from Debian, Ubuntu, has become one of the hottest Linux distributions; the DCC Alliance brought a Linux Standards Base (LSB) 3.0 compliant core to Debian; and Netcraft reported that Debian has regained its position as the fastest growing Linux distribution for web servers.
